I am a Fred Thompson supporter. When I learned he had officially dropped out, I was a bit disappointed, but I said to myself, "I'm voting for him anyway."
That's because I refuse to vote for those other candidates, mostly RINOS, and obviously interested in themselves more than their country.
Oh,and about the military in Japan, not all the Japanese resent us there. That is a controversy among them. For instance, when I was living there in the early '80s, those at the far northpoint, didn't mind the American military there, because Russians were at that time, anyway, still picking up Japanese fishermen and interrogating them. Plus, Russian weapons were pointed directly at that northern island. Those in Tokyo don't appreciate our presence as much, but even so, a Japanese man approached my husband and a friend to offer his apology for WWII and wanted to buy them dinner. So don't forget, Japan has a liberal press also, not just the U.S.
When I read a biography of George Washington, I just about fell in love with the guy. He didn't want to be president. When he left the office, handing it over to John Adams, George W. knew he was going to be the happiest one, returning to his home at Mt. Vernon.
But that didn't mean George W. was lazy. He was a servant.
We, the American people are the bosses interviewing these candidates for a job. There is a job description, and I want someone hired for the position who understands the job description and what will be expected of him. Fred is, in my opionion, the best one for the job.
Regarding the FAIR TAX and Huckabee: how can he be a fiscal liberal and be for the Fair Tax? For that matter, how can he be a social conservative and at the same time a fiscal liberal? For me, where and how I spend my money is a "social" issue.
I don't trust Huckabee, and I think Christians supporting him are making the same mistake they did when they supported CARTER!
Supporting Fred is not just about Fred; in fact it's hardly anything about Fred, but rather what it represents and stands for, and the way in which he does so.
The Republican Party has been hijacked, and another party is not the answer; the answer is to take it back. I don't see how we, as conservatives, can do that if we lend support, or give it, to the RINOS. I simpy refuse to do so, and Fred running all over the country is not required in order for me to take that stand. I take it because I must. I take it because that's my job as a conservative.
Frankly, anything less than that, to me, is just politically immature. Mature voters, and I don't mean age here, don't need candidates to entertain them. We just need a candidate to be real. Fred is that. So, when he said he would serve if the American people asked him, I think he meant it. And I'm asking him to do that.
I really am disappointed that so few have signed the petition to vote for Fred. When the red truck was rolling and the friends were being added daily, I think we were up to over 16,000. Since Fred has officially left the race, we don't yet have even 500 on the petition. What's up with that? I think it's because people don't realize how free they still are and how much power they still have, and how much WE need to campaign for what WE want.
Please, if you think Fred is the best person for the job of POTUS, go to the petition and stand with your fellow Americans who are making a stand for the truly conservative Republican Party and a stand against the slide to socialism which is always eating its way into our lives.

Dude - you gotta stay in touch. Do not remove any of your Fred stuff, please. We are still going to need it.

I am writing an article, "Fred Thompson is as Dumb as a Fox", that I will post on www.pinnaclecascade.com on Monday. I think you are going to find it very interesting. To give you a little heads up remember that Fred said, "I'm not going to play by the phoney rules". Fred was not talking about the MSM only, he was talking about the entire election process.

I have two interesting articles posted, in the blue box, on my web site this morning. You will find those very, very interesting as well.

Stay in touch. There is more to come. gomezcooley2@hotmail.com

Actually, Fred's biggest problem is that he isn't willing to pander and never saw the need to 'dumb down' a speech.

Don't make me remind people of Miss South Carolina, it's too embarrassing and far too sad. Unfortunately, she is the poster child of a majority of graduates of American public school systems...

Fred's problem was that he failed to utilize the operative words "race" or "running" when considering his bid for the presidency. They don't call it "crawling" or "strolling" for the office. Fred wasn't in the "race"; he was almost always in the "crawl". Crawlers don't win the presidency.

This is a sad, sad, and dark day for America. Stormwarning, did it ever occur to you that those "hordes" (note sp) may be ALOT SMARTER THAN YOU? If it didn't occur to you, it should have.

Well, he's out. So what are you going to do? Find another topic to write about? He wasn't in it from the beginning (you've gotta be in it to win it) and never really had his heart in it. Just because apparent hoards on the Internet and blogosphere favored him, didn't make him win. Same thing with some of the other marginal candidates.
